Health Weight Service Course Information
The service focuses on healthy lifestyle advice. We offer an effective, safe approach for patients/clients to change behaviour by incorporate healthy eating, exercise and cooking skills into their life.
Patients have an initial assessment to ensure they receive the most appropriate service. Support comes in the form of an 8 weeks healthy weight group, a 4 week one to one or attendance at the weekly drop-in clinic(appointment not necessary). Patients are followed up for 12 months and offered weekly support before and after their selected programme at the drop-in.
This service is suitable for overweight and obese adults (16+) in Warrington. Referrals to this service can be made by your GP or as a self referral by contacting the team or attending the Drop-in Clinic.
CHEW is a 4 week practical cooking course which can be accessed through the GP or self referral. The course includes - cooking skills, healthy eating, food labelling, menu planning, eating on a budget and how to stay motivated.
This service is suitable for mainly adults (16+) who require help or ideas with their cooking skills. Please contact the team directly to discuss your needs.
No appointment is required for ongoing support. For an informal chat, information or a weight check the times are as follows:
Monday 5.00pm - 6.45pm (Garven Place)
Tuesday 10.00am - 12.00pm (Warrington Wolves main entrance)
This service is suitable for adults (16+) who would like advice/help with being a healthy weight.
We are aiming to introduce a training programme to educate other health professionals and /or community groups/volunteers to cascade healthy lifestyle knowledge further into the community.
