Project Victoria Park
Following the feedback from the series of community and stakeholder consultation events last year, Project Victoria Park is now ready to progress on to the next level.
A detailed design, development and delivery strategy will soon be prepared by BDP, a leading European and regionally based practice of architects, designers and engineers with expertise in this area.
Acting on behalf of the council as the lead consultant, BDP will work directly with potential project partners and the wide range of stakeholders to prepare a proposal for an exciting and vibrant green space which directly supports the wider planned regeneration of the borough.
A key part of BDP’s considerations will also involve working with the Environment Agency on opportunities to improve the Park’s extensive waterfront whilst managing flood risk in the area.
Cllr Alan Litton, executive board member for environment and transport at the council said: “We are very keen that the future development and improvement of the park will be sustainable. The project’s future regeneration and improvement proposals will be expected to generate significant external funding and support from partners to ensure its future delivery and management.”
The project programme will include further stakeholder workshops and consultation events with the final report and delivery strategy due to be completed in the summer.
